Q: Why do some corporations behave as if they are beyond the law? Why do most corporations go to extreme lengths to demonstrate their altruism? Why do corporations employ a disproportionate amount of legal and tax experts.

A: PROFIT

In a capitalist world we accept that profit is good. However, is excessive profit good? What is excessive profit? Excessive profit is profit that is manipulated by unfair means. It can only come by reduction of your cost base below that of your competitors. Occasionally a process or development gives a corporation an edge to increase profit legitimately. However, competition being competition, they inevitably copy, obtain or substitute said advantage and return all parties to the level playing field. Ultimately the formula for excessive profit comes from the unscrupulous corporation demanding cuts in production costs through a commercial squeeze on payroll, quality and HSE standards. And why have all those tax accountants if not to deprive the producing country or sale point of their legitimate taxation. Taxation that would help that area prosper.

The Colonel is of the opinion, that excessive profits are not good. Demands for excessive profits is motivated by personal greed, and always driven by individuals at the head of those corporations adopting aforementioned practices. Unlike Gordon Gecko, the Colonel does not accept that greed is good. Greed is graft.

And he intends to change that !!!
